Free Summer VPK Hours
8:30am – 4:00pm
VPK, Florida’s free PRE-K program, is for a child turning four years old on-or-before September 1st and residing in Florida. Our program ensures children are prepared to successfully start kindergarten through activities that build a strong foundation of knowledge for reading, writing, and mathematics.
We realize the foundation for future success is built by skills acquired through play and exploring. Our VPK program offers an engaging and challenging early education experience conducted in a safe and secure environment. Our VPK teachers are highly experienced and exceed the State’s requirements for teaching VPK.
As mentioned before, the Links to Early Learning curriculum is the first of its kind in the nation that researches, develops and offers evidence-based tools targeting young children at risk for reading failure. Our goal is to effectively instruct children at the very beginning of their reading journey to ensure long-term reading success.
The Links to Early Learning summer curriculum keeps these goals in mind. Our teachers and VPK parents understand the key concepts and the actions needed to promote reading success for our children through a variety of specific tools, services and resources. We are very proud of the challenging and fun combination the Links to Early Learning curriculum offers. Remember, the earlier we find a child at risk for reading problems and begin proper instruction, the better the outcome. We want every VPK child to achieve his or her reading potential for kindergarten and for life.
During the summer, the children in the VPK class work with original themed-lesson pans and modules designed to be fun and educational. Each child receives individual attention, which builds self-esteem while the child is becoming successful in reading, writing, math-through-drama play, music, and art. In addition, our VPK program prepares your child for kindergarten and elementary school by incorporating academic lessons in small group activities. We strive to offer the greatest learning experiences as we continue Setting the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Generation.
